One of the founding fathers of the success that Branson is today is Branson’s First Show, The Baldknobbers Jamboree. Since 1959, The Baldknobbers have been performing to audiences young and old that come from all over the United States to hear wonderful family entertainment. Back in the early days, Branson was known for good fishing. So with good, simple toe tapping country music and clean hilarious comedy, the Mabe family started a tradition that would continue through four decades and three generations later. They began performing down by the lakefront to the fisherman that would come to town. In 1968, the success of the Mabe family had endeared them to many fans and gained them national popularity.
They once again had outgrown their theatre, so they moved to a new building on Highway 76, which is now the centerpiece of the beautiful Baldknobbers Complex. The Baldknobbers Jamboree Show is two hours of power packed music and comedy guaranteed to entertain all ages! You take good country music, add in a helping of hilarious, sidesplitting comedy, sprinkle in a taste of the grass roots of gospel and American patriotism, and you’ve got the recipe of the dynamic Baldknobbers Jamboree Show that has established the benchmark for what Branson is today, the “Live Entertainment Capital of the World!”
